September 18, 2026 – The Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) congratulates Pacific Gas & Electric Company, the University of Alabama, and Howard County, Maryland, on achieving EMAP accreditation.
Accreditation recognizes emergency management programs that demonstrate compliance with the EMAP Emergency Management Standard, which provides a framework for evaluating capabilities, governance, planning, resource management, training, communications and operational readiness.
Through a comprehensive evaluation process that includes self-assessment, documentation and peer review, these programs demonstrate their commitment to preparedness, accountability and continuous improvement.
